LANA IUVENIS ASSEMBLING
Cabinet and Drivers Assembling – Cabinetmaker: Tibor Szeifert
LEFT: Round cut on the first panel of the baffle. CENTER: “Flower” cut on the second panel of baffle. RIGHT: Back view of the 2 panels of the baffle glued together. With the “Flower” cut the rear air-flow of the driver is not restricted and in this way we reduce rear diffraction, the Woofer can freely “breathe”.
Sides panels are made of 2,8 cm tick walnut. Thickness of the panels can be a bit different but keep the inside measures! Here the reflex port is not yet cut to the right length.
LEFT and CENTER: Installation of the 4 mm tick high damping bitumen board for reducing structure-borne noise of loudspeaker cabinets. RIGHT: Cabinets under “pressure” 🙂 .
Lana Iuvenis Loudspeaker Cabinet Assembled at the workshop. Cabinetmaker: Tibor Szeifert
LEFT: 3,2 cm tick Polyurethane foam and 1 cm tick damping felt Recycled material (Damping-10Self-adhesive) in place. For the Polyurethane I used something like the Tyrotex Foam N25/3 or the Prytex, (the Prytex is just 2,8 cm thick but is still good) or the FBU30 from DiBirama. In the final assembling the Supra cable will be directly connected to the crossover, the extra cable you see is just used for the testing. CENTER: High quality Binding Post in place (High End terminal 2 pole Gold). RIGHT: Assembling the Eton Symphony II 7-312/C8/32 HEX Woofer and the SB Acoustics SATORI TW29RN-B in place.
ANOTHER BUILT IUVENIS CABINET WITH EXTERNAL CROSSOVER!
This is a second pair built on request with external crossover and so with 4 connectors on the back. Walnut wood of 2,5cm for the 2 sides and 3cm MDF for the other panels (just the panel over the tweeter is of 2cm).
Details of the finishing.
External cabinet for the crossover in Walnut wood. Tweeter connection has 2 positive to allow two different responses in the middle high/high range of the speaker.
Ready to take Measures!
LEFT: Rotatable Stand we made to easily measure loudspeakers systems at on-axis and at different off-axis degree! CENTER: Iuvenis 2 way stand-mount Speaker System ready for the measurements (Click to enlarge). RIGHT: Iuvenis placed on the Rotatable Stand with Mic at 1m distance (Click to enlarge).

In this Table you can see the T&S parameters Of the Eton Woofer, on the left the Declared ones and on the right the parameters I measured (“averaged” between the 2 units I have).
